Opening Prayer:

Lord, please open up our hearts so we can receive this Bible study into our hearts and be convicted. Help us to be vulnerable and open-minded throughout this Bible study. I pray for your peace to surround us during this Bible study. Help us store this message inside of our hearts. Amen.

Why do you think it is important for our kindness and love for others to increase? I believe it is important because it plays a huge role in soul winning. Nobody will want to come to Christ if Christ is being portrayed in an evil way.

2 Corinthians 5:20 says, “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.”

We must be careful how we portray Christ to other people.  We must understand that our behavior can cause someone else to not want to come to God. The blood is on our hands if we do this. This means that works do not fully determine whether we can save a soul or not. Someone could have read the whole entire Bible 20 times and still miss the opportunity to save a soul because of their Satanic behavior. Hate is Satanic behavior. We must show these good fruits instead of Satanic behavior in our actions. This is what attracts people to God. Love and kindness are like sweet incense.

I was just praying and I asked God to grow my kindness and love for other people. Once these words came out of my mouth He told me this: “If you want kindness and love to increase more for others then you must have less of you and more of Me.”

After I heard this everything finally made sense. I always asked God to increase these good fruits in my life so I could use them for the benefit of others. But, the truth is that I must allow him to put more of his Holy Spirit inside of me. How I do that is by allowing him to take more of me.

John 3:30 says, “He must increase, but I must decrease.”

This is all biblical. Before we can have our kindness and love for others to increase, we must decrease first. Notice that the scripture says the word “but.” According to google the word “but” is used to indicate the impossibility of anything other than what is being stated. In other words, it is impossible to receive more good fruits in our lives if we do not decrease first. If we have more of us inside of us instead of God then how can we expect to have more good fruits than bad fruits? If we have more of God inside of us then we can expect to receive more kindness and love for other people.

How would you define kindness? I would define kindness as being tender-hearted and considerate towards others as well as putting ourselves in someone else’s shoes. How would you define love? I would define love as Jesus. How Jesus loves is love. It is too overwhelming to put it into words, but Jesus is the origin of love.

Ephesians 4:32 says, “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.”

How can we be more kind and loving towards others? We can be more kind and loving towards others as long as there is more Christ in us than ourselves. We can be more kind and loving towards others if we forgive more, treat others better than we treat ourselves, put ourselves in someone else’s shoes more.

Matthew 7:12 says, “Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.”

If we stop jumping to conclusions and assuming. If we stop putting other people who haven’t come to God yet down. We are all sinners. We are not better than the people in the world. The Bible says in 1 John 4:4 says “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”

It never said greater is you as a person than those people in the world. So we must humble ourselves and be kind and loving to all people. That is what Christ did when he came down unto the earth. He was and still is doing that. This topic never seems to come up frequently but it must be said. All people should be treated with love and kindness by Christians too. It is not the will of God to go hate presidents, homosexuals, alcoholics, fornicators, deceivers, blasphemers, abusers, etc. You are allowed but God to hate the act, but not the person. Many people just throw out the statement  “Hate the sin, love the sinner” without even living it. This is why God does not listen to lying lips, instead, he listens to the heart. So does your heart fully say “Hate the sin, love the sinner” or does it say “Hate the sin, hate the sinner?” I know many will not admit it with their lips that they hate the sinner. Just know the God hears the heart. God is not pleased when we hate the sinner (1 Peter 3:8-12).

The Gospel is not too difficult, we humans just made it difficult. Our only job is to spread the word as the Holy Spirit leads us and live for Christ fully. The Holy Spirit will not be leading us if we have a hateful and mean heart towards others according to Luke 10:5-6. We will not be making it into the kingdom if we do not love our neighbor according to Luke 10:27-28. God loves when we listen to his commandments so love your neighbor. If we love God we should love our neighbor.

1 John 4:20-21 says, “If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.”

So I encourage you to go spread a word of kindness today. Go tell someone you love and care about them. Go tell someone how much you cherish them. I promise that this will make them smile. People underestimate acts of kindness and love these days. Go tell someone the good news of God. Most importantly though, you must first allow God to take away more of you and put more of Him. If you were convicted by this study do not waste time caring dreadful burdens of guilt instead go repent and ask for a clean heart and allow him to give one to you. If you were not convicted at all then I am concerned because all of us need to grow in love and kindness. I encourage you to ask God for vulnerability and ask for a clean heart as well. Amen. God Bless!
